Ormiston Junior College Theatre
Ormiston Junior College is one of New Zealand's newest PPP (Public-Private Partnership)
high schools. Designed by architects, Andrew Scott Cotton (ASC) the stunning facility meets the needs of teaching and learning
for the 21st century. The modern industrial style of architecture feels more like university campuses than a traditional high
school. Asona’s specialist product Triton Duo 60™ was used in areas that would be affected by rain attenuation or
by plenum noise. This is why it was selected for the Schools Performing Arts Theatre. Triton Duo 60™ is made with
as a 60 mm thick dual layer composite absorber and attenuator ceiling panel with a Sonatex™ black facer on a 50
mm absorber combined with a 10 mm high mass 740 kg/m³ attenuator plasterboard backer which delivered an NRC
1.00 to this creative space. Additional Triton Fabwall 100 wrapped in Sustainable Living-Classic fabric was used on
the walls to counter reverberation and control additional noise.
